When grinding on monsters in Ragnarok Mobile: Eternal Love, whether you’re farming for zeny or leveling up , you should watch out for your target monster’s levels.
If there’s a huge level gap between your base level and your target’s level, experience (EXP) and drop rate penalties will apply.
EXP/Drop Rate Penalties
There are two types of EXP and item/zeny drop rate penalties:
- When the monster’s level is higher than yours
- When the monster’s level is lower than yours
Monster Level is Higher
Level Gap | EXP and Drop Rate |
0–10 | 100% |
11–20 | 80% |
21+ | 60% |
Monster Level is Lower
Level Gap | EXP and Drop Rate |
1–10 | 100% |
11–15 | 80% |
16–20 | 60% |
21–25 | 40% |
26–30 | 20% |
31+ | 10% |
Generally, you’ll start getting lower EXP and item/zeny drop rates if you’re 10 levels higher or lower than your target monster.
Here’s an example: if you’re at Level 82 and you’re farming on Eggyras (Lv 61), then you have a 82 – 61 = 21 level gap.
This means you’ll only get 40% of the actual EXP and drop rates. So instead of Evil Horns dropping at a 23.59% chance, it will drop down to 23.59 * 0.4 = 9.436% rate only. That’s a huge difference!
That’s why it’s advisable to only farm mobs within a maximum of around 10-15 level gaps to prevent significant reductions in EXP and drop rate.
However, it’s totally fine to ignore the penalties if the drops are just too good and you can efficiently kill the mobs in one hit.

More facts about EXP/Drop Rate Penalties
For card drop rates, it’s not really confirmed yet if they are affected by the level gap penalties. However, there’s been lots of reports about players who got a card despite a 20+ level gap. So I think the more important factors here are luck and how fast you can kill the mobs.
The following are NOT affected by the level gap penalties:
-
All dungeon/instance raids are not affected:
- Time Rift drops
- Endless Tower
- Valhalla Ruins
- etc…
- SMVP drops
- Cooking ingredients when using Chef’s Eagle Eyes

Here’s an important thing to note though. Don’t let the penalties be the “end all be all” factor for deciding which farming spot is more efficient.
It’s possible that although you’ll only get 80% rates for “Mob A” with a 10+ level gap, you can kill it 20% or more times faster than on “Mob B” without penalty (within < 10 level gap). Maybe you can 1-hit Mob A but need 3-4 hits on Mob B. In that case, it’s more efficient to farm on Mob A since you ultimately get more EXP/drops over time. Do that until you can also 1 hit and insta-kill Mob B.
To accurately determine which farming spot is the best for your current situation, take note of the EXP/zeny/drops received per unit of time.
Good luck and happy grinding!
Do u know if card drop hare is affected by level gap? Or the 0.01% is the minimum?
It’s not really confirmed yet, and it’s hard to test it since card drop rates are reaaaally low to begin with. The general consensus seems to be that it’s not affected though and 0.01% is the minimum. See “More facts” section above. 🙂
Is it apply also for the Pet Adventure using High level pet to do low level area ?
Didnt they make a chart to confirm the drop rate for cards is roughly 0.0001%?
Bad idea… i need hard skins on 90 lvl? What should I do?
Create new char for farming low lvl drop?)
No. You farm loots from monsters near your level, sell them and use the Zeny to buy the Hard Skins from Exchange.
Here is the idea,
It is Nearly impossible to have 3 main chars since you won’t have other free time outside the game, lol…
First Way is :
– The First Char is your MAIN Character. All Desired Materials / Equipments will be stored here first.
– The Second Char is used to Unlock ALL 3rd Job Headwears. After all Headwears Unlocked, you can use this one as second main char.
– The Third Char is Erasable Char, which just used to farm materials / cards based on their levels, and getting Free Level Up Bagsss. Note that you’ll always get it with your new chars, and once you reach lv 50, 90, and 99 you can claim those free 3 cards. And last, the item drop rate are much fairer while in low level.

Second is , you can start Group Hunting with the other 5 players, it boost you 30% more drop rate by your current drop rate (+ penalty) , so if you have drop rate penalty to 20%, by group hunt you can increase it by 30%, meaning it will be 26%
———————————————————————————————————Third is, be rich and buy all materials you need.
IMO as Solo Hunt F2P I would recommend first way.
And if you’re looking for a Very Low Level Card in your Very High Level, you don’t need to worry, just buy 3 cards with the lowest price in exchange, then reroll them at King Poring. Just In case if you missed Poring Card while your level is already 100, if you’re lucky you can get from it. Since it’s counted as “Draw”, you can get both “Attribute Reward” from Card
Nice! Sounds like its been months, since you last slept. 😂
