Starting on the EP5.0 patch in Ragnarok M: Eternal Love, 3rd-job classes can now increase their Job Level cap from Lv. 40 to Lv. 60.
Here’s a quick guide on how to do the quest that unlocks 3rd-Job Breakthrough so you can start collecting Dead Breaths (a.k.a. BoDs).
How to Unlock 3rd Job Breakthrough Quest
The quest for 3rd Job breakthrough starts in Umbala, the new “treehouse” town.
To go to Umbala, start from Morocc then go South, West, West. You can also check out our guide here: How to Access Umbala and Niflheim
Once in Umbala, talk to the female Swordsman NPC to start the quest. Just follow the next steps by following quest markers.
You’ll also need to talk to some NPCs in Niflheim. This town is just in the north of Umbala field. Again, refer to our guide on How to Access Niflheim .
The NPC in Umbala might ask some questions, the answer key is 2nd choice, 1st choice, 3rd choice.
The rest of the quest involves talking to several NPCs in different towns, activating some items, and killing some mobs.
The whole quest will end in Umbala town and you’ll now be able to unlock the 3rd Job Breakthrough!
How to increase 3rd Job Level Cap with Dead Breaths
After the quest you’ll receive the Dead Breath container item which holds all of your Dead Breaths (a.k.a. Breath of Death or BoD for veteran players).
You will need to collect lots of Dead Breaths to increase your Job Level cap. This is similar to the Peak Shards for Transcendent Classes.
There are five (5) ways to obtain Dead Breaths:
- Niflheim Daily Quests
- World Boss
- Revenant Boss (a.k.a. Undead MVP or UMVP)
- Undead Boss at ET 101
- Undead Boss at VR100

How to activate the niflheim dailies, there are no daily mission in niflheim town for me.
Just finish all the quest there..and ypu will unlock it

500 death breaths will allow you job lvl 41 .there is table in the video check it out. technically you are right.
